We are looking for Key Account Managers (KAM) to support Siemens’s largest accounts in the United States. This is an outstanding opportunity to employ your proven electrical utility domain expertise in providing solutions while selling both software and energy automation equipment.

This is a remote opportunity in the contiguous U.S.

Designed to accelerate the energy transition and electrification by adding critically important capabilities, Siemens Grid Software and Energy Automation help utilities shape the future of their power landscape. We offer a whole spectrum of innovative products and solutions - for energy protection and automation as well as communication technology including data analytics technologies based on digital twin solutions and IoT-applications.

You’ll make an impact as you:

  1. Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will identify, implement, and drive sales for your targeted accounts.
  2. Some of the highlights of this role that will contribute to achieving yearly sales targets and overall success include:
    1. Crafting and supporting account plans for your dedicated accounts—and driving go-to-market growth initiatives, sales strategies, and orders.
    2. Cultivate CxO-level, VP, and Director relationships with target municipalities and investor-owned utilities while clearly communicating Siemens’ vision, value proposition, and key differentiators.
    3. Achieving strategic corporate initiatives for sales priorities, growth, and culture.
    4. Driving the launch/roll-out of new offerings and commercial models.
    5. Helping clients build cases for funding requests.
    6. Providing weekly updates regarding forecast, funnel, initiatives, and key opportunities.
    7. Representing the enterprise utility team in other essential functions, such as: product management, marketing, engineering, customer support, and solution delivery.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic qualifications:

  1. Extensive experience selling grid software and energy automation equipment and services to energy utility customers, with proven skills in:
    1. Managing, analyzing, and winning complex bids
    2. Negotiating contract renewals and managing conflict
    3. Creating and executing sales campaigns
  2. Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate multiple internal product teams to customize solutions for your customers.
  3. Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization—including director/VP and C-Suite—in proficient English.
  4. Proven track record of account management, including accurate sales forecasting, sales process management, and successful attainment of quota across multiple product lines.
  5. Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for a STEM or business focus.
  6. Ability to travel up to 30%.
  7. Ability to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Experience with MEDDICC and/or Challenger selling.
  2. Experience in On-Prem and Cloud-Based Solutions
  3. Proficiency with Salesforce and Revegy preferred
  4. Knowledge of electric power distribution networks

  2. The base salary range for this position is $107,520 - $184,320. A bonus and/or commission plan also is part of the compensation package for this sales position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
