Job summary

Alpha is hiring a Lower School Teacher (Guides) for full-time, on-site work at a campus. You will guide K-3 students through app-based core learning, diagnose gaps, and maintain daily goals with a hands-on, diagnostic approach.

Relocation support is available; requires 3+ years with children 4-9, 2+ years teaching reading in K-3, and structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, etc.). Bachelor's degree; visa sponsorship not required.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on-site at a campus with relocation support
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3
• Structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, or similar; or a master’s in reading or literacy
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required
• Comfort guiding students through app-based learning 90% of the day and 10% on reading sessions
• Willing to work with all K-3 students, not only struggling readers
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Coach students through app-based core learning and close gaps
• Run short literacy sessions with small groups and diagnose decoding gaps
• Lead morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities
• Drive students to weekly app goals with leaderboards and gamification
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing
