Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning and stronger mentorship. This Literacy Specialist role is full-time and on-site, guiding K–3 students through app-based core literacy activities, with structured routines and data-driven instruction.

You will diagnose gaps, design targeted sequences, and remain with students from launch through closing, including lunch and recess. Relocation support is provided, with nationwide campus openings in multiple cities.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on-site at a campus listed above, with relocation support
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar
• A teaching certificate is not required
• Comfortable spending about 90% of your day guiding students through app-based learning, workshops, and campus routines
• Willing to work with all K-3 students, not only struggling readers
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Get every K-3 student to their daily learning goals and close reading gaps
• Coach two to four students in diagnostic, targeted sequences
• Lead morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities
• Drive students to weekly app goals with gamification and leaderboards
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing with a plan for challenging cases
