Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster, more personalized reading instruction delivered through app-based core learning. This on-site role supports K-3 students, diagnosing gaps and guiding targeted sequences to close them.

You will stay with your students through lunch and recess, ensuring weekly progress and concrete outcomes. A structured-literacy background and relocation support are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years direct work with children ages 4-9.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in K-3 within the last 5 years.
• On-site work with relocation support.
• Completion of structured-literacy training or a master's in reading/literacy.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning: spotting who is stuck, asking the question that unblocks them, holding the daily goal.
• Running short structured-literacy sessions with two to four students, diagnosing a phonics or decoding gap, teaching a designed sequence, and checking transfer.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Driving students to weekly app goals with leaderboards and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing, plan for the frustrated child.
