Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Youth Development Coach to guide K-3 students through app-based core learning on campus. You’ll spot gaps, prompt the next steps, and keep daily goals high while staying with students from launch to close.

This full-time, on-site role requires hands-on literacy coaching, small-group sessions, and data-driven instruction. Relocation support is available; Alpha recruits nationally with benefits.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on-site at a campus listed above, with relocation support.
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in relevant settings.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 (last 5 years).
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree; teaching certificate not required.
• 90% day guiding students through app-based learning; 10% on reading sessions.
• Willing to work with all K-3 students, not only struggling readers.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning: spotting who is stuck, asking the question that unblocks them, holding the daily goal.
• Running short structured-literacy sessions with two to four students; diagnosing gaps and teaching a designed sequence.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities for six-year-olds.
• Driving students to weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing, addressing frustration with a plan.
