Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Youth Development Coach to guide early readers through app-based core learning and literacy activities. You will stay with students from launch to closing, diagnose decoding gaps, and tailor a short, structured sequence to move them forward across K–3.

This on-site, full-time role requires hands-on coaching with 3+ years of experience with children and proven structured-literacy training or a master’s in reading or literacy. Relocation support is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of direct work with children aged 4–9.
• 2+ years teaching reading in K–3 within last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master’s in reading/literacy.

Responsibilities

• Get K–3 students to daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Lead short structured‑literacy sessions for 2–4 students.
• Diagnose phonics gaps using running records and fluency probes.
• Guide students through app-based core learning and campus routines.
• Maintain daily goals and respond to frustration with a plan.
