Job summary

Alpha is hiring guides to coach K–3 students using app-based core learning and to diagnose and close literacy gaps with short, targeted sequences.

You will stay with your cohort through lunch and closing, supporting daily goals and maintaining momentum. This is a full-time, on-site role at a Greenwich campus, with Alpha expanding campuses nationwide and offering relocation assistance where needed.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on-site at a campus listed above, with relocation support
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3, within the last 5 years
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning, spotting gaps, and guiding progress
• Running short structured-literacy sessions with small groups and diagnosing decoding gaps
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and routines to keep students engaged
• Driving students toward weekly app goals using gamification and leaderboards
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing, addressing frustration with a plan
