Job summary

Alpha is hiring an Academic Coach to work on-site at a campus, guiding K-3 students through app-based core learning, identifying gaps, and delivering short literacy sessions.

You will stay with students through lunch and closing, using structured literacy training, and supporting relocation if needed. This role is full-time on-site with comprehensive benefits and national campus openings.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years directly with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, or similar settings.
• Experience coaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading) or a master's in reading or literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coaching K-3 students through app-based core learning: spotting gaps, asking the right questions, and maintaining daily goals.
• Running short structured-literacy sessions for 2–4 students, diagnosing gaps and teaching a sequence you designed.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and classroom routines to keep six-year-olds engaged.
• Guiding students toward weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch and closing, addressing frustration with a concrete plan.
