Job summary

Propel Northside is seeking a Literacy Instructional Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. The role provides explicit reading instruction using Evidence Based Literacy Instruction and analyzes assessment data to guide targeted interventions for scholars below grade level.

The position involves push-in and pull-out support, collaboration with educators, and ongoing professional development to improve literacy outcomes across elementary grades.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required; knowledge of literacy instruction.
• Ability to learn various technological resources and use them in literacy interventions.
• Experience in an urban education environment is preferred.
• Education-related field or relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer literacy assessments to students multiple times per year.
• Provide evidence-based reading interventions (push-in and pull-out).
• Analyze assessment data to diagnose reading deficits and monitor progress.
• Model intervention strategies for general and special education staff.
• Attend professional development to improve instructional practices.
• Communicate with the Title I Schoolwide Programs Coordinator regularly.
