Job summary

Struthers City School District is seeking a Supplemental Support Teacher (Literacy Intervention) for Struthers Elementary School to deliver targeted literacy support under a grant-funded initiative. This one-year role focuses on improving reading outcomes using evidence-based practices aligned with the Science of Reading.

The teacher will work closely with classroom instructors, intervention staff, special education personnel, and administrators to monitor progress and implement interventions

Qualifications

• Must have a current valid Ohio Early Childhood License K-5 or PK-3.
• Must have completed the Ohio Department of Education Science of Reading professional learning modules.
• Must have experience implementing evidence-based instruction aligned to the Science of Reading.
• Must have knowledge of Ohio's Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
• Must have elementary teaching experience in reading/language arts.
• Must be able to work cooperatively in an inclusion setting.
• Must have experience analyzing literacy assessment data to develop targeted interventions.
• Must have a clean and current BCI and FBI check.
• LETRS Training (Volumes 1 and 2)
• Associate Level Orton-Gillingham Training
• Reading Endorsement (#059902)
• Master's or Doctoral Degree in Reading or Literacy
• Passing score on Foundations of Reading Assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted supplemental literacy instruction to students in K-4.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, intervention staff, and administrators.
• Monitor student progress and implement evidence-based interventions.
• Support district school-improvement goals beyond core instruction.
