Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter for a contract role across multiple campuses for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, supporting Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to enable inclusive classrooms.

The role focuses on real-time interpretation of classroom instruction, participation in IEP meetings, and adapting communication approaches to meet diverse student needs

Qualifications

• Must hold at least a 3.5 EIPA score.
• Proficient in American Sign Language for educational settings.
• Prior experience working with K-12 students preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
• Commitment to confidentiality and school policies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate clear communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and the school community.
• Interpret classroom instruction and activities in real time.
• Assist in IEP meetings and other school-related functions as assigned.
• Adapt interpreting style to meet each student's needs and learning environment.
• Provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation to support understanding and engagement.
• Serve as a bridge between students, peers, and educators to foster inclusion.
