Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a 1:1 student in a Leonardtown, MD area school. This full-time contract runs Aug 10, 2026 through Jun 17, 2027, offering stable opportunities for professional collaboration and impact on daily learning.

You will provide in-person ASL interpretation, collaborate with teachers and staff, and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards while helping the student access lessons and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications

• MD Sign Language Interpreter License or eligibility
• Experience providing ASL interpretation in educational settings
• Experience supporting K-12 students, 1:1 roles preferred
• EIPA score meeting district preference (share score with application)
• Professionalism, reliability, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to classroom routines and various teacher/student needs

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person ASL interpreting for a designated student
• Facilitate clear communication between student, teachers, peers, and staff
• Collaborate with educational teams to support academic and social engagement
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards for interpreters in schools
• Support participation in lessons and extracurricular activities as assigned
• Respond to feedback and adjust interpreting strategies as needed
