Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to support high school students in a dynamic educational setting. The contract runs ASAP through May 27, 2027, at 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligned with the school calendar.

You will collaborate with teachers and special education staff, prepare for classes and events, and maintain FERPA-compliant records while supporting student access and success throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter for high school-aged students (ASL interpretation)
• EIPA score of 4.0 (performance) and written exam required; must appear on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry
• RID and NIC certification accepted if EIPA written is held
• Commitment to fingerprinting and drug screening in addition to standard credentialing
• Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and work across school sites
• Strong communication skills and professionalism to support student success

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate sign language interpretation in classroom and school environments for high school students
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to meet student needs
• Prepare for classes and school events, supporting instruction, testing, and activities
• Maintain confidentiality and FERPA-compliant record-keeping
• Participate in meetings or professional development as requested
