Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, seeks a Civil/Environmental Engineer to manage water infrastructure projects from planning through construction. You will coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and regulators to ensure projects meet standards and stay within budget.

Qualified candidates have a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, 1–3 years of design experience (water focus), and an EIT or ability to obtain it within 12 months. PA driver’s license and vehicle use required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 1–3 years of design experience, preferably water projects.
• Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Pennsylvania driver’s license and ability to operate Company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects including water mains, tanks, boosters, valves, and treatment upgrades.
• Prepare studies and reports to guide system planning.
• Develop annual capital improvement plans and estimate costs.
• Prepare permit applications for local, state, and federal approvals.
• Prepare bid documents, conduct bidding, and oversee contracts.
• Coordinate with department heads, designers, consultants, and contractors.
• Track budgets, progress, and timelines in the financial systems.
• Maintain system maps, hydraulic models, and records.
• Pursue professional development and stay updated on industry trends.
• Provide technical due diligence for acquisitions and system improvements.
