Job summary

Aqua Pennsylvania is seeking a Project Engineer I to oversee capital projects for water distribution systems, including rehabilitation and new infrastructure across Pennsylvania.

The role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree with 1–3 years of design experience, EIT eligibility, and PA driver’s license. CAD, WaterGEMS, and MS Office skills are essential for planning, permitting, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 1–3 years of design experience, ideally with water projects.
• Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Pennsylvania driver’s license and ability to operate Company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects including water main replacements, water storage tanks, booster stations, valve vaults, water treatment plant improvements and more.
• Prepare studies and reports to guide management in planning for future system needs and improvements.
• Assist in developing and implementing annual capital improvement plans for water infrastructure.
• Prepare permit applications for local, state, and federal approvals with regulatory agencies.
• Prepare bid documents, conduct bidding, and oversee contract requirements.
• Collaborate with department heads, designers, consultants, and contractors to ensure standards and regulations are met.
• Track project budgets, progress, and timelines using Aqua Pennsylvania’s financial systems.
• Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes through seminars and professional development.
• Provide technical due diligence for potential acquisitions and estimate necessary improvements for water and wastewater systems.
• Maintain and update system maps, hydraulic models, and related records.
