Job summary

Aqua Texas, a brand of Essential Utilities, seeks a Project Engineer III to lead capital improvement projects across the state. You will manage design and construction, coordinate third-party consultants, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.

The role requires a civil/environmental engineering background, PE licensure in Texas or within 6 months, and 6+ years in water/wastewater with project budgeting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering is required.
• PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 6+ years of professional experience in Water and/or Wastewater and budget management of projects over $1M.
• Project Management experience preferred; PMI certification a plus.
• Experience conducting field testing, data collection and master planning for water distribution systems and sewer collection systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to project sites within the assigned region.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct project management support in the design and construction management of capital projects.
• Manage third party consulting design firms and prepare technical, bidding, and contractual documents.
• Oversee scope and quality to meet design concepts, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a senior technical manager for water and wastewater treatment design and reviews.
• Conduct technical reviews of designs prepared by others.
• Manage capital projects from planning through construction and commissioning; provide technical guidance during deployment.
• Recommend pilot studies and investigate new treatment technologies.
• Collaborate with Operations to optimize treatment processes and apply new technologies.
