Job summary

Aqua Pennsylvania is seeking a Project Engineer I to manage capital projects across its water distribution systems, including new infrastructure and rehabilitation of existing facilities. You will coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, 1–3 years of water project design experience, and EIT eligibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
1–3 years of design experience with water projects preferred.
EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
PA driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicle required.

Responsibilities

Oversee capital projects for water distribution systems (main replacements, tanks, boosters, valves, treatment upgrades).
Prepare planning studies and reports for system improvements.
Develop annual capital improvement plans and estimate costs.
Prepare permit applications for local, state, and federal agencies.
Manage bids and oversee contract requirements.
Collaborate with departments, designers, consultants, and contractors.
Monitor budgets, progress, and timelines in financial systems.
Engage in professional development to stay current with industry trends.
Provide technical due diligence for acquisitions of water/wastewater assets.
Maintain and update system maps, hydraulic models, and specifications.
