Job summary

Erias Ventures is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to assist with planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system. You will collaborate with customers, systems engineers, developers, and the UX team to ensure requirements are defined, built, tested, and delivered in an Agile environment.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or four years of equivalent experience), strong communication, and experience turning requirements into Jira

Qualifications

• Gather and document functional requirements from government stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into Jira user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct functional/manual testing of features.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Jira/Confluence.
• Strong written and verbal communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Java/JavaScript frameworks and RESTful services.

Responsibilities

• Requirements gathering and decomposition from government customers.
• Develop user stories and epics for the dev team.
• Curate and groom the sprint backlog with well-scoped work.
• Serve as point of contact for developers and blockers.
• Perform initial functional testing of new development.
• Present features to government customers and collect feedback.
• Collaborate with UX on design requirements and usability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and lifecycle activities.
