Job summary

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to assist with planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system. You will work directly with customers, systems engineers, developers, and the UX team to ensure features are defined, built, tested, and delivered.

Responsibilities include eliciting requirements, crafting user stories, grooming the backlog, supporting developers, and presenting progress to government customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to elicit, analyze, and document functional requirements from government customers and stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into actionable Jira user stories and epics for development teams.
• Experience performing functional/manual testing of application features.
• Familiarity with Agile software development and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to present technical work to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Elicit and document functional requirements from government customers and stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Curate and groom the sprint backlog so work is well-scoped for developers.
• Serve as a point of contact for developers to remove blockers during sprints.
• Conduct initial functional testing to validate features against requirements.
• Present new development and features to government customers and gather feedback.
• Collaborate with UX on designs to reflect usability and design considerations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support the development lifecycle.
