Job summary

Erias Ventures, LLC is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to assist with planning, design, and implementation of mission-critical systems. You will work with customers, systems engineers, developers, and the UX team to define, build, test, and deliver mission-driven software capabilities within an Agile framework.

The role involves engaging with stakeholders, maintaining a clear backlog, and supporting sprint activities while ensuring high-quality solutions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Elicit and document functional requirements from government customers and stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into Jira user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct initial functional testing of new development features.
• Familiar with Agile software development methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Strong written and verbal communication to present technical work to stakeholders.
• Understand basic software concepts (Java/JavaScript) to communicate with developers.

Responsibilities

• Requirements gathering & decomposition from government stakeholders.
• User story development and acceptance criteria definition.
• Sprint curation and backlog grooming for effective workload planning.
• Provide developer support and remove blockers during sprints.
• Perform initial testing to validate features against requirements.
• Present new development and collected feedback to government customers.
• Collaborate with UX team to ensure usability in requirements and stories.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support the development lifecycle.
