Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in systems administration while gaining hands‑on experience supporting enterprise server, virtualization, and network environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with Active Directory , Windows Server administration , VMware or Hyper‑V , and basic networking concepts such as DNS and DHCP . We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments
• Create, modify, and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Active Directory
• Assist with Group Policy administration and troubleshooting
• Support virtualized infrastructure utilizing VMware and/or Hyper‑V
• Perform system patching and routine maintenance activities
• Monitor and verify backup jobs and assist with disaster recovery testing
• Support core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, and certificate services
• Troubleshoot server, network, and connectivity issues
• Assist with the deployment and setup of infrastructure equipment, including switches and access points
• Monitor system and network health using various monitoring tools
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, and infrastructure records
• Manage incidents, service requests, and asset tracking through ticketing systems
• Participate in team projects and infrastructure initiatives
• Provide occasional onsite support at remote locations
• Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and on‑call rotations as needed

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems administration, or technical operations
• Experience with Active Directory user and group management
• Basic understanding of Group Policy
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments
• Exposure to VMware vSphere and/or Hyper‑V
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
  • TCP/IP
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Network troubleshooting
• Experience with backup and recovery processes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to work onsite five days per week
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting with infrastructure deployments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PowerShell scripting
• Exposure to monitoring tools and system health dashboards
• Knowledge of DFS and certificate services
• Experience working with backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or similar platforms
• Cloud exposure (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
• IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Server+, Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
