Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer to apply and expand your engineering background in power systems. You will join project teams designing high voltage and extra-high voltage substations, and prepare procurement specifications for major electrical equipment.

The role supports a hybrid work model with three days in the office and two remote days, and may include travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and field verification. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science with strong preference in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering or related coursework including Coding and 3D Modeling.
• Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering to project design.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D and create drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams designing high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical equipment and installation services.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site verification of designs.
• Leverage automation and agentic AI to improve workflows and documentation.
