Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer to join a project team focused on detailed electrical design and project management for high voltage substations. You will participate in conceptualization, planning, and execution while collaborating with experienced engineers to develop robust, compliant designs.

The role emphasizes problem solving with modern tools, potential travel to client sites, and a hybrid schedule with in‑office work three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
• 3+ years in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budgets and schedules.
• Experience tracking schedules, expenditures, status reports, and client interface.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution.
• Support challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble‑shooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports that present technical and project information clearly and meet client requirements and S&L formats.
• Develop your career via peer‑learning through knowledge sharing within S&L’s Communities of Practice.
• You may have the opportunity to travel to client sites as needed.
