Job summary
Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer to contribute to high‑voltage substation and transmission system design within a collaborative project team environment. The role involves preparing procurement specifications, engaging with clients and vendors, and occasional travel for design reviews and site coordination.
It supports a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote work days.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree with strong preference in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering and/or coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and AI tools.
- Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering principles in project design.
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D and create/interpret technical drawings and models.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Work on project teams with other engineers designing new high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
- Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services.
- Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews and site coordination as needed.
