Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior structural engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in the United States. You will lead a team on structural engineering for new nuclear facilities, upgrades, and plant modifications, collaborating across disciplines to guide junior engineers.

You will apply your expertise in materials, analysis, steel and concrete design, and develop calculations, specifications, and drawings while traveling to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years on project teams designing/analyzing structures (steel AISC and concrete ACI).
• Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS.
• Experience with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI design codes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, and support designers with drawing development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination.
