Job summary

KBR Mission Technology Solutions in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Jr. System Engineer to collaborate with stakeholders in the design, development, and research of interfaces, ensuring subsystems are integrated into a fully viable system.

You will provide ongoing functional analysis to validate mission requirements and constraints while assessing system performance and providing feedback to a subsystem team of teams.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Polygraph.
• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Understanding of planning and integrating secure solutions per legal, policy and compliance directives.
• Familiarity with developing requirements for system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security for mid-to-large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Support end-user needs by identifying, investigating and resolving system issues related to space systems.
• Collaborate with analysts, project leads, and customers to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
• Assist in developing system requirements and specifications aligned with High-Level Mission objectives.
• Participate in trade studies to identify improvements in system performance, architecture, and software/hardware solutions.
• Contribute to engineering tradeoff analyses and assist in formulating Courses of Action (COAs) that consider operational constraints.
• Gather information to create technical documents that support project deliverables.
• Stay updated on agency, national, and international standards related to space systems development to ensure compliance and integration.
• Provide support throughout the systems engineering life cycle, managing risks and developing mitigation plans to guarantee mission success.
• Track project activities for systems engineering, software/hardware development, and deployment, ensuring effective command and control integration.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize ground processing and mission management practices.
