Job summary

KBR Mission Technology Solutions is seeking a Jr. System Engineer to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in the design, development, and research of interfaces, ensuring all subsystems are integrated into a viable, completed system.

You will provide ongoing functional analysis to validate mission requirements and constraints, assess system performance, and advise the customer to inform mission critical decisions. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and a related engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related field
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication
• Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Understanding of planning and integrating secure solutions per legal, policy, and compliance directives
• Familiarity with developing requirements for performance, availability, scalability, security for mid-to-large systems

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate and resolve system issues related to space systems
• Collaborate with analysts, project leads, and customers to improve operational efficiency and system reliability
• Assist in developing system requirements and specifications aligned with mission objectives
• Participate in trade studies to identify improvements in system performance, architecture, and software/hardware solutions
• Contribute to engineering tradeoff analyses and help formulate Courses of Action
• Gather information to create technical documents supporting project deliverables
• Stay updated on agency and international standards for space systems development
• Provide lifecycle systems engineering support, manage risks and mitigation plans
• Track project activities for systems engineering and deployment
• Engage in continuous improvement to optimize ground processing and mission management
