Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support the National Security Solutions team. The role spans the lifecycle of space systems, including the ground command and control elements, and requires strong configuration management skills.

Responsibilities include overseeing baselines, processing changes for government approval, and coordinating with the government customer. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Active/Current TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with DoD/IC space systems and acquisition processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage configuration baseline by overseeing the configuration control boards, engineering review boards, technical review boards, and other control mechanisms.
• Institute rigorous control processes to document baseline configurations and manage changes in support of the chief engineer.
• Prepare deviations, waivers, and requests for change (RFCs) for government approval when specifications cannot be met.
• Submit engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintain records and submit reports regarding status.
• Identify and assess impacts on new capabilities, including across internal and external interfaces.
• Coordinate review schedules and timelines with the government customer.
