Job summary

KBR's National Security Solutions team is seeking a Space Systems Engineer to contribute across space systems design, development, and integration for SSC programs. You will engage in acquisition lifecycle activities, perform performance analysis, and support program readiness.

The ideal candidate has MBSE experience, a strong engineering background, and the ability to lead technical engagements with cross-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced defense environment in Scottsdale, AZ.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in related science field (orbital mechanics, space physics, etc) with 3+ years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree acceptable if candidate has at least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Active TS (SCI eligible) or Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, acquisition, and operational support across a portfolio of space programs.
• Support all phases of the space acquisition lifecycle, including engineering, operations, and performance analysis.
• Develop and revise acquisition and JCIDS documentation (CONOPS, ICDs, AoAs, milestone packages) per DoD standards.
• Prepare technical and programmatic status reports and briefings.
• Identify and mitigate risks; support development of risk mitigation plans.
• Support cost/schedule performance analysis.
• Review contractor deliverables for compliance and performance; support DCMA surveillance and IMS reconciliation.
• Monitor program schedules, acquisition implementation, and requirement fulfillment; maintain accurate acquisition reporting.
• Participate in design reviews, working groups, and program meetings; support IPTs and stakeholder coordination.
• Provide mission protection and operational insight; evaluate technical anomalies and support readiness reviews, audits, and compliance assessments.
