Job summary

KBR National Security Solutions is seeking a Space Systems Engineer with a strong V&V background to support proliferated satellite constellations in Chantilly, VA. You will shape verification strategies, manage requirements, and coordinate across space, ground, and user segments to ensure mission success.

The role requires 8+ years in space system development and an active TS/SCI clearance. On-site work, government-facing responsibilities, and collaboration with government leadership are core

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related STEM discipline.
• 8+ years of space systems experience: development, integration and test.
• Knowledge of Government space and ground domain mission capabilities.
• Experience with DoD/IC contracting and federal acquisition regulations.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong communication with Government leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage requirements from Enterprise documents to Segment and lower levels.
• Develop and manage system-level verification and validation strategies.
• Define verification methods, success criteria, and traceability from requirements to test.
• Evaluate contractor V&V plans, procedures, and results.
• Support test planning across components, subsystems, systems, and mission levels.
• Identify gaps and risks in verification approaches and recommend actions.
• Lead segment specification sell-off and other verification activities.
• Provide V&V status to Government decision makers.
• Coordinate proposed specification changes and integration into baseline.
• Identify risks to mission closure and evaluate burn-down plans.
• Support CONOPS development with the customer.
• Interface with spacecraft, payload, network, and user teams for end-to-end interfaces.
• Support I&T planning and execution across ground and space segments.
• Evaluate contractor designs, test results, and operational concepts for compliance.
• Contribute to system documentation, reviews, and government briefings.
• Document analyses, recommendations, plans, reports, and briefings to Government.
