Job summary

Formosa Plastics Group in Baton Rouge seeks an entry-level Help Desk / Junior Systems Administrator to provide technical support to employees and assist with day-to-day IT operations.

You will troubleshoot issues, set up desktops and mobile devices, support Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, and help with onboarding and security procedures.

This role offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing IT environment with mentorship from senior staff and opportunities to grow IT skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, Windows, and basic networking.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow procedures, document work, and manage priorities.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and ask for help.

Responsibilities

• Respond to support requests via ticketing system, phone, email, and in person.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, connectivity, and account issues.
• Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup and account changes.
• Support Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
• Assist with user accounts, permissions, and password resets in Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID.
• Help monitor system health, apply updates, and review backup results under supervision.
• Maintain accurate support documentation, equipment inventory, and troubleshooting guides.
• Follow security procedures and elevate complex issues to senior IT staff.
