Job summary

Coastal Community Bank is seeking a junior in-house counsel to provide foundational legal support across banking and fintech/BaaS initiatives. Working under senior attorneys, you will assist with contract review, legal research, and day-to-day workflows while building expertise in banking and fintech law.

This role is ideal for an early-career attorney seeking broad exposure in a fast-moving, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active Washington State Bar eligibility.
• 0–3 years of legal experience in corporate/banking/fintech law is common for this level.
• Experience drafting or negotiating commercial or technology contracts is preferred.
• Experience supporting corporate governance, Board/committee operations, or regulatory filings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial, vendor, and technology contracts; draft basic language and templates.
• Identify and escalate potential legal or business risks to senior attorneys.
• Support contract administration tasks including tracking and documentation.
• Conduct legal research on banking, fintech, privacy, compliance, and commercial matters; prepare memos and recommendations.
• Assist with banking, fintech, and business support; gather details and prepare legal summaries for cross-functional teams.
• Assist with Board materials, governance documents, and recordkeeping; participate in meetings as note-taker or observer.
• Support stockholder relations and regulatory filings; prepare initial drafts for disclosures and filings; manage regulatory documentation.
