Job summary

Third Coast Bank is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide in-house advice on bank products, services, and regulatory matters. You will support litigation, policy development, and contract management in a fast-paced, regulated banking environment.

You will draft and review policies, collaborate with Compliance, and assist in board communications. A J.D. and 7+ years of experience are required for this full-time role in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a reputable law school and bar admission.
• 7+ years experience as a lawyer in a mid/large firm, government, or financial services.
• Experience in banking/financial services regulatory matters.
• Ability to draft, negotiate and manage contracts across bank products and services.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting litigation management and regulatory inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of contracts.
• Draft and review corporate policies related to compliance, governance, data security, retention.
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation and reporting to the Board.
• Support Compliance in investigations and regulatory inquiries.
• Advise on customer agreements, product development and disclosures.
• Provide legal counsel for regulatory requirements.
• Prepare minutes for board and committee meetings.
• Conduct legal research on new legislation and regulations.
• Assist in SEC filings and corporate governance tasks.
