Job summary

DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a Junior Human Resources Support Specialist to support the Contingency Operations (CO) Department at Fort Belvoir, VA. The role focuses on tracking HR actions, onboarding, awards, and documentation in DTRA workflows, providing essential support to senior leaders in a fast-paced defense environment.

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance, a high school diploma, and 1–3 years of HR support experience.

Qualifications

• Citizenship in the U.S. required.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• High School Diploma required.
• 1–3 years of government, military, or corporate HR support experience.
• Ability to write clear, concise correspondence with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Track HR actions for recruitment, onboarding, retention, and awards for Civilians and Military.
• Assist with drafting and submitting documents into DTRA workflow platforms.
• Prepare reports and presentations to support senior leader decision making.
• Assist with processing medical evaluations and in/out-processing employees as needed.
