Job summary

Sierra Space in Centennial and Louisville, CO is seeking an entry‑level Guidance, Navigation & Controls Engineer I to support spacecraft GNC development and analysis. You will work on control systems, orbital mechanics and simulations under senior engineers, contributing to GNC algorithms and software integration.

Responsibilities include Kalman filtering, Monte Carlo simulations, MATLAB models, HITL tests, and clear results documentation for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent work experience.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience or projects in GNC.
• Foundational knowledge of statics, dynamics, control systems, and orbital mechanics.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support development and analysis of spacecraft GNC systems.
• Design, analyze, and implement GNC algorithms, including Kalman filtering and classical control.
• Develop MATLAB scripts/models and integrate with SIMULINK/STK; perform HITL simulations.
• Document results and communicate findings to the team.
