Job summary

Stantec is seeking an environmental scientist/geologist to perform fieldwork at sites with contamination from petroleum fuels and metals. You will collect samples, oversee drilling, and participate in data analysis and report preparation.

Qualifications include a BS in Geology or Environmental Science and 0–3 years of experience. A TWIC card and OSHA HAZWOPER (desirable) are preferred, with travel and irregular hours common.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Be conscientious, detail-oriented, and disciplined.
• Ability to manage multiple project priorities simultaneously.
• Proficient in commonly used software such as Word and Excel.
• Pre-employment physical is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental field work at commercial/industrial facilities, including current/former refineries.
• Collect soil, sediment, water, and air samples; oversee drilling of soil borings and monitoring wells.
• Prepare site maps, logs, diagrams, and groundwater-related drawings.
• Analyze data and assist in preparing technical reports.
• Complete health & safety training and follow safety policies.
• Travel may be required; work hours can include overnight/weekend shifts.
