MasTec Renewables is seeking an Engineer I to support the engineering, design, and execution of utility-scale battery energy storage system projects. You will assist with layouts, deliverables, equipment evaluations, and data analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective BESS designs.

The role offers opportunities to work across multiple MasTec Renewables offices, including Phoenix, AZ, with a focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• One to three years of related work experience preferred.
• EIT certification preferred or on path to obtain.
• Experience in renewable energy or energy storage, or experience in electrical engineering in construction environments, is strongly preferred.
• Experience in engineering software preferred; AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CYMCAP.

Responsabilités

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Support the implementation of lessons learned and industry best practices with a mindset of continuous improvement.
• Create and optimize preliminary battery energy storage system (BESS) layouts under guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Conduct routine research and develop recommendations for BESS equipment and materials.
• Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, engineering standards, codes, and MasTec Renewables procedures.
• Support compliance with Company engineering standards, quality standards, and processes.
• Support value engineering efforts by assisting with design reviews and identifying improvement opportunities.
