Job summary

MasTec Renewables seeks an Energy Storage Engineer I to support the design and execution of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will assist with layouts, deliverables, equipment evaluations, and data analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs.

Location options include Dallas, TX; Indianapolis, IN; or Phoenix, AZ, with travel to project sites. A Bachelor's in engineering is required; 1–3 years of experience preferred; EIT is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred and EIT certification preferred or on path.
• 1–3 years of related work experience preferred; renewable energy or energy storage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and follow company policies.
• Create and optimize preliminary BESS layouts under guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Conduct routine research and recommendations for BESS equipment and materials.
• Support design reviews and coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Assist with basic engineering calculations and data management.
