Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking an Engineer I to support the engineering and design of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will assist with project layouts, technical deliverables, equipment evaluations, and data analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective BESS designs.

Location flexibility with office options in Dallas, TX; Indianapolis, IN; or Phoenix, AZ. This role collaborates with senior engineers and project teams to meet milestones and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• EIT certification preferred or on path to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Create and optimize preliminary BESS layouts under guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Conduct routine research and develop recommendations for BESS equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants as directed by project leadership.
