Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking an Energy Storage Engineer I to support the engineering, design, and execution of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). Location-flexible across Dallas, Indianapolis, or Phoenix, you will assist with layouts, technical deliverables, and data analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with project teams and external consultants, apply standard engineering methods, and help prepare drawings,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 1–3 years of related work experience preferred.
• EIT certification preferred or on path to obtain.
• Experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or electrical construction is strongly preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CYMCAP required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize preliminary BESS layouts under guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare and review drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Conduct routine research and develop recommendations for BESS equipment and materials.
• Support compliance with engineering standards, quality standards and processes.
• Coordinate with project teams and external consultants; assist with design reviews.
• Support preparation of engineering deliverables and basic calculations.
