Job summary

MasTec Renewables is hiring an Energy Storage Engineer I to support the design and execution of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will assist with layouts, deliverables, equipment evaluations, and data analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Advanced degree preferred
• One to three years of related work experience preferred
• EIT certification preferred or on path to obtain
• Experience in renewable energy or energy storage preferred
• Experience using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CYMCAP preferred

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
• Support the implementation of lessons learned and best practices with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Create and optimize preliminary BESS layouts under guidance from senior engineers
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies
• Conduct routine research and develop recommendations for BESS equipment and materials
• Support compliance with engineering standards, quality standards, and MasTec Renewables procedures
• Coordinate with internal project team members and external engineering consultants as directed by project leadership
• Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope
• Travel to project sites as required to support engineering issue resolution
• Other duties as assigned
