Job summary

MasTec Renewables, combining MasTec Renewables and its affiliates, seeks an Energy Storage Engineer I to support design and execution of utility-scale battery energy storage systems. The role involves assisting with layouts, deliverables, equipment evaluations, and data analysis to ensure safe, reliable BESS designs.

The position can be located in Dallas, TX; Indianapolis, IN; or Phoenix, AZ, with regular collaboration across project teams and external consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Advanced degree preferred
• 1–3 years related experience preferred
• EIT certification preferred or on path to obtain

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety policies
• Create and optimize preliminary BESS layouts under guidance from senior engineers
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables: drawings, reports, specs
• Conduct routine research and recommend BESS equipment/materials
• Communicate with project managers and technical staff to support execution
• Travel to project sites as required
