Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking an Engineer I to support design, layouts, and data analysis for utility-scale battery energy storage projects. You will work under senior engineers to create preliminary layouts, review drawings, and help deliver cost-effective BESS solutions.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration with project teams, and development of design standards while supporting internal clients and external consultants as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• One to three years of related work experience preferred.
• EIT certification preferred or on path to obtain.
• Experience in renewable energy or energy storage is strongly preferred.
• Experience in engineering software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CYMCAP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Create and optimize preliminary battery energy storage system (BESS) layouts under guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Contribute to process improvements, equipment enhancements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Travel to project sites as required to support engineering issue resolution and gather lessons learned.
