Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma in Durant, OK is hiring Entry Level Cook for multiple dining venues. This is a full-time role offering hands-on kitchen experience under a Sous Chef in a high-volume, professional environment.

You will prepare ingredients, cook with various methods, follow standardized recipes, maintain food safety, and support setup, service, and cleanup while learning from seasoned culinary leaders.

Qualifications

• Able to speak, read, and write English.
• Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain.
• 6 months of culinary experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.).
• Cook food using a variety of methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil).
• Ensure food is properly seasoned, garnished, and visually appealing.
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods.
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup.
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and production levels.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
