Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma in Durant is hiring an Entry Level Cook 1 across multiple venues to support daily kitchen operations. You will learn from experienced culinary leaders while preparing ingredients and maintaining high standards.

This role requires a basic interest in culinary arts, the ability to follow recipes, and a willingness to work weekends and holidays; prior culinary basics are helpful and food safety awareness is valued.

Qualifications

• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.)
• Cook food using methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil)
• Ensure food is properly seasoned, garnished, and visually appealing
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and production levels
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment
