Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is seeking an Entry Level Cook to join multiple dining venues across Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant. This full-time role offers hands-on kitchen experience in a high-volume area under the guidance of experienced culinary leaders.

Responsibilities include preparing ingredients, cooking with various methods, proper plating, following recipes, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and assisting with setup, service, and cleanup. Weekend and holiday schedules are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain)
• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.)
• Cook food using a variety of methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil)
• Ensure food is properly seasoned, garnished, and visually appealing
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and production levels
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment
