Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level engineer to support diverse construction projects. Reporting to a project manager or superintendent, you will coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors to ensure work meets contract specs and safety standards.

You will gain training in construction processes, read technical drawings, manage changes, and help track costs and schedules across project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in an engineering or construction field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors on site.
• Assist in estimating and bidding processes and track costs to manage the budget.
• Resolve and clarify design issues and field questions.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals and change orders for accuracy.
• Support project supervision to ensure contract compliance and safety on site.
• Document project progress, milestones and phase completions.
