Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking entry-level engineers to assist in the management of construction projects. You will report to a project manager and/or superintendent, supporting coordination with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors.

Duties include budgeting, design issue resolution and change order processing. You will also help with contract documentation, meetings, quality control, and progress tracking to ensure projects meet safety, schedule and specification

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management, Construction Technology.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Familiarity with construction processes, drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors on site.
• Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to control the project budget.
• Resolve and clarify design issues and field problems as they arise.
• Identify and resolve field issues and change orders.
• Prepare and document contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language.
