Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer in Tampa, FL to assist in managing all aspects of construction projects. You will report to a Project Manager or Superintendent and help coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Science in an engineering field, with knowledge of engineering principles and proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with scheduling tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
• Knowledge of engineering principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Assist in managing estimating, bidding processes and tracking costs to control project budget.
• Clarify design issues and resolve field changes.
• Document contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language for all ordered work and costs.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensure work complies with quality standards and contract specifications.
