Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level engineer to support construction projects on-site. Reporting to a Project Manager or Superintendent, you will coordinate with owner representatives, architects, engineers and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with design intent and contract requirements.

You will assist with estimating and budgeting, resolve design issues, and document contracts, change orders, and schedules.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with MS Office and basic project management concepts.

Responsibilities

Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors on site.
Manage estimating, bidding processes and track costs to control project budget.
Resolve and clarify design issues and field changes.
Prepare contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language to document work and costs.
Attend meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
Ensure work complies with quality standards and contract specifications.
Assist in developing project schedules and track progress against milestones.
Document project phases, costs and personnel actions.
Support project superintendents to maintain contract compliance and safety on site.
Review drawings, submittals and change orders for accuracy.
